7 tips for an eco-friendly trip!

eco-friendly travel

We all are switching to an eco-friendly lifestyle as it is the need of the hour for a sustainable future. But we find it hard while travelling.

Below are some simple swaps to make your travel eco- friendly.

1- Reusable water bottle

If you want to reduce your pollution during a trip, the first thing to bring with you is… The old good reusable bottle! You’ll avoid using a lot of water bottles! You are travelling to a country where the water isn’t potable? There are some bottles that come with a filter which can be very practical. For those who travel in all-inclusive hotels, don’t forget to bring a reusable cup for your drinks… To avoid wasting tons of plastic glasses! And remember don’t waste food, even if there is a buffet!

2- Reusable bag for your purchases

The best is always to foresee your needs … So, bring a reusable bag for your purchases. It’s easy to think about it at home, but we often find ourselves using plastic bags while travelling. Yet, there are many foldable reusable bag models available in the market which are practical and easy to put in your daily backpack.

3- Reusable Utensils

As we know many countries have banned disposable plastic utensils and even if they are available, they are bad for the environment. So, think about getting the OLA Bamboo zero waste kit, it allows you to avoid using plastic disposable utensils and straws. It’s lightweight and easy to carry.

4- Reusable makeup pads

Single-use makeup wipes are filling up the landfills and are pretty bad for the environment. While travelling, to give you the convenience of single-use makeup wipes, OLA Bamboo has introduced machine washable makeup remover pads. You can store them in the mesh laundry bag that comes along and wash them with your other laundry after coming home.

There is another hack to laundry. Are you familiar with wash bags? Compact and easy to use, you’ll be able to bring less clothing during your trip or camping trip. The best thing about it? You won’t have to look for washing machines. So great! A little reminder, if you are staying in a hotel, don’t change your towels every day… Another small gesture for the planet!

5- Bamboo cotton swabs

Plastic cotton swabs have filled up the oceans and are posing a major threat to the environment. Switch to bamboo cotton swabs that are 100% compostable and carry them along to protect the oceans from further damage.

6- Bamboo beach toys for kids

If you are planning to visit a beach, then we have an amazing eco-friendlier option for your kids to play beach – bamboo beach toys. It includes a shovel and rake made of natural bamboo wood and a tin bucket.

7- Bamboo travel case

Many people keep their toothbrushes in plastic ziplock while travelling. Well, it is not an eco-friendly choice. We have specially designed a travel case to help your store your toothbrush hygienically. It has air holes for your toothbrush to breathe and stay fresh.

What will be your next destination?
