Why buy?
Reducing plastic is good. Reducing chemicals is even better! That is why our OLA Bamboo Natural deodorant (made in Canada) is our new favourite. Its recyclable cardboard packaging allows us to eliminate the plastic containers of regular deodorants, which often are not even recyclable. What’s more, it’s a highly effective product free of aluminium, parabens and—for women who have reactions to —baking soda.
Use and Maintenance
Store at a temperature between 4 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Use your index and middle fingers to press the cardboard under the packaging to push the deodorant stick out. You may need to keep your fingers inside when applying it to keep the deodorant from slipping back down.
Apply a thin layer under your armpits. Do not apply to broken skin.
How to dispose
The cardboard tube is recyclable. Before putting it in the recycling bin, be sure to remove the remaining deodorant by rinsing the tube with hot water. If needed, you can scrub a little with your fingers or a brush.

FAQ
Does OLA Bamboo Natural deodorant contain baking soda?
No, our Natural deodorant doesn’t contain baking soda. We chose tapioca starch, which is gluten-free and shouldn’t cause rashes. Our deodorant also contains cornstarch to help absorb moisture.
Should the deodorant be used quickly after opening?
There is no time limit for use after opening OLA Bamboo Natural deodorant. There is simply an expiration date on the bottom of the tube. The deodorant lasts up to two years after production.
Is OLA Bamboo Natural deodorant vegan?
Our deodorant contains Canadian beeswax, so it is not considered vegan. Note that the use of beeswax is a good thing because it allows beekeepers to continue raising bees and helps conserve them.
Is OLA Bamboo Natural deodorant an antiperspirant?
Our deodorant does not prevent sweating, so it is not an antiperspirant. However, it does contain natural products that will help absorb moisture and control odours, such as cornstarch, tapioca starch, coconut oil and zinc ricinoleate.
Is OLA Bamboo deodorant 100% natural?
Our deodorant is 98.5% natural because it contains a small amount of perfume and a preservative. See the ingredients on the product page.
Why is the deodorant’s cardboard tube not completely full?
Each tube contains 42 grams of deodorant as stated on the packaging. We do not completely fill the container because the weight of the deodorant would prevent it from remaining at the top of the tube if it were too heavy. We nevertheless chose these tubes because deodorant needs to be a specific width for comfortable application on the armpits and to make it clearly visible on shelves. It is standard practice in the industry not to completely fill containers so that they take up more space on shelves. Because we want to have good visibility alongside plastic deodorants, we had no choice but to select a tube with a specific height. Our tube is 100% recyclable and contains no plastic.
What do I do with the tube when the deodorant is used up?

The only great thing about this product is the eco-packaging. First, it barely lasted two months, whereas my current deodorant lasts me at least 6 and is 1/3 of the price. I’m happy to pay more for eco-friendly products, but this isn’t worth it. Second, the packaging makes it difficult to use. You have to stick your fingers in the carton to push out the deodorant, which is tough once it’s almost finished, and there’s no way to roll it back down easily. Third, the cucumber scent is too faint to mask any odours.

Just to let you know that you don’t have to roll it back down to put the lid, there is place in it to let it that way. Cardboard tube isn’t as user friendly as plastic one, but for us the eco-friendly quality is worth it. 🙂

Finally found something that works for me. I was looking for chemical-free deodorant but so far I was experiencing irritation. This one is really smooth on skin. Highly recommend it.

Je l’ai reçu à Noël, car je voulais essayer ce produit d’Ola Bamboo. Cependant, quand j’ai ouvert le tube, le déodorant n’était en bloc circulaire, mais faisait un demi cercle. Je crois que c’est un défaut de fabrication. Je n’ai donc pas encore essayé le produit en tant que tel.

Ce produit ne fonctionne tout simplement pas pour moi… Après 1-2 heures, je commence déjà à sentir mauvais… Ce n’était pas le premier déodorant naturel que j’essayais, et malheureusement je ne trouve pas qu’il offre une bonne protection contre les odeurs. Cependant, j’adore le principe du tube et carton, et le produit a une fragrance délicate.

I have been using it for a week now. Didn’t get any kind of rash or irritation for which I was worried and smells great!

Great product, smell was long lasting, and didn’t irritate my skin.
I only had difficulty in pushing the stick up once I got to the end; I couldn’t use the deodorant in the last cm.
Will buy again though! -
J’adore ce déodorant et mon mari aussi. Depuis quelques années, ils avaient toujours des plaques rouges aux aisselles… et tout est rentré dans l’ordre depuis qu’il utilise le déodorant OLA Bamboo.

Bon produit, mais la quantité qu’on obtient pour le prix n’est pas suffisante. La moitié de l’emballage est vide. Les produits similaires qui fonctionnent aussi bien offrent 85g environ plutôt que 42g.

Merci de votre commentaire. Nous offrons toujours le juste prix pour nos produits. Le déodorant est fabriqué dans un laboratoire certifié, au Québec et la production coûte cher. Aussi, un contenant de carton est plus dispendieux qu’un contenant régulier en plastique.

J’en ai essayé plusieurs avant celui-ci et je sentais mauvais après quelques heures d’utilisation. Mon seul avis serait de peut-être accentuer un peu plus la fragrance, mais pour le reste, c’est parfait !

Just to let you know that you don’t have to roll it back down to put the lid, there is place in it to let it that way. Cardboard tube isn’t as user friendly as plastic one, but for us the eco-friendly quality is worth it. 🙂
