Do the OLA Bamboo products are 100% compostable?

The handle of our toothbrush is 100% compostable, however, the bristles are not. Currently, the only toothbrushes 100% compostable are made of bamboo and the bristles are made of pig hair. These toothbrushes require slaughter pig whose hairs are removed and processed into bristle toothbrushes. In short, who really wants to brush their teeth with pig hair ? We are working to develop a 100% compostable toothbrush made from plant material.

Are OLA Bamboo utensils and straws 100% compostable?

Yes, the utensils and straws we offer are 100% biodegradable and compostable. You can dispose of them by placing them directly in the compost or in the brown bin of the compostable material management system in your city. Note that straws are created in order to be cleaned and reused several times before being composted. For utensils, this is a unique use.

How can I dispose of my toothbrush?

Since the handle is 100% compostable, less than separate the two materials, it is suggested to throw your OLA Bamboo toothbrush with waste. This toothbrush doesn’t pretend to be perfect, but closer to perfection than most toothbrushes. Even if you throw your OLA Bamboo toothbrush in the trash, the handle will compost in the dumping ground. This is still much better than the plastic that pollutes for over 500 years.

Why OLA Bamboo toothbrushes are good for the environment?

Each year there’s are about 4 billion plastic toothbrushes that ends up in dumping ground and different natural environments on the planet. The plastic used to make toothbrushes takes about 500 years before degrading. Although the plastic degrades, its chemical composition remains intact and the entire plastic substance remains in the environment for centuries. Bamboo is the main material used in the manufacture of OLA Bamboo toothbrush. This 100% natural and 100% compostable plant replaces plastic. Since bamboo is a tree, it decomposes naturally in the environment. When you have an OLA Bamboo toothbrush, you help eliminate unnecessary plastic in the environment.
